Treating Two Conditions in One Surgery

In an outstanding medical collaboration, our Surgical Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology departments successfully performed a combined surgery on a 78-year-old patient, treating two conditions in a single session.

• Routine breast cancer staging scans by Dr. Amal Al Rayes revealed an incidental ovarian mass.
• The patient was referred to Dr. Maha Ghorabah, who evaluated and confirmed that the ovarian mass was benign.
• A Left Mastectomy and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, performed simultaneously with a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy and Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (TAH & BSO).
• The patient made a full recovery, and post-operative pathology successfully confirmed the complete removal of all pathology.
