Al Kindi Hospital Celebrates “Purple Saturday,” Reaffirming Commitment to Empowering People of Determination

Dr. Ebtisam Al Dallal, CEO of Al Kindi Hospital, affirmed that the hospital’s celebration of “Purple Saturday”—an initiative dedicated to supporting and empowering People of Determination (people with disabilities) – embodies the Kingdom of Bahrain’s belief that nation-building begins with the individual, and that true development is incomplete without the inclusion of all members of society.

Her remarks came during a recognition ceremony hosted by the hospital’s management to honor People of Determination and celebrate their achievements.

Dr. Ebtisam Al Dallal expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Social Development for launching this pioneering initiative. She noted that it has significantly contributed to reinforcing a culture of inclusion, raising community awareness regarding the rights of People of Determination, and translating royal directives into actionable initiatives that reflect the Kingdom’s civilized and humanitarian values.

Furthermore, Dr. Ebtisam Al Dallal extended her sincere thanks to Her Excellency Ms. Sabika Al Fadhala, Member of the Shura Council, for her tangible efforts in supporting legislation and policies that safeguard the rights of People of Determination.

She also expressed appreciation to the President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee for his honorable role in empowering athletes with determination and showcasing their achievements, as well as to the Chairperson of the Bahrain Intellectual Disability and Autism Society, who has dedicated over two decades of noble service to this cherished segment of society and their families.

Dr. Ebtisam Al Dallal emphasized that the progress of any society is measured by the equal opportunities it provides to all its members, its ability to embrace diversity, and its respect for human dignity. She stressed that Al Kindi Hospital views its social responsibility as an integral core of its mission, rather than a supplementary activity.
